Name: Vampyre (singular), Vampyres (Plural)
Gender(s): Both Male and Female
General Appearance/Distinct Traits: Most vampyres have pale skin, accompanied by fangs. Most pure-blooded vampyres have darker hair.
Age in proportion to human years:[/u] 15 Human years makes a vampyre year. The life expectancy is approximately 50 vampyre years. Also, for the first 15 years of their life, they live according to human years. After that, the vampyre instincts kick in and their aging becomes slower starting on the 15th birthday. If someone is bitten into a vampyre, however, they start transformation instantly or on their next birthday regardless of age.
General location/habitat:[/u] Vampyres are spread somewhat evenly throughout the world, dotting areas that are wooded or have once been wooded. Vampyres tend to reside in warmer, more friendly locations today to catch prey off-guard.
Unique Abilities:[/u] Pure-blooded vampyres (those born as a vampyre) may turn into a bat.
Diet:[/u] Pure-blooded vampyres tend to drink the blood of humans and lost travelers. They also suck the blood of most other species, but cannot drink the blood of werewolves or shapeshifters.
Mized-blood vampyres can drink the blood of humans, but can sustain themselves on the blood of animals as well.
Brief History:[/u] Vampyres have been around for some time, living secretly until discovered by a group of villagers approximately 800 years ago. Afterwards, they lived in more populated areas. However, some vampyres disrupted the reace that many others wished to keep, and became rogues that bit and drained the blood of unsuspecting travelers.
Most vampyres are disliked by humans, and are neutral with werewolves and shapeshifter, as for some reason they cannot drink the blood of anyone of that species.
Open to Creation?:[/u]Yes.
Creation Limits:[/u] To make a full-blooded Vampyre, you require approval from someone of that rank or the Administrator, or you must be that rank.
Requires Approval to be created?:[/u] Mixed-blooded: No; Full-Blooded: Yes.
Can they make others of their kind?:[/u] Yes.
If so, how?:[/u] Full-blooded vampyres can bite others to make more vampyres (mixed-blooded). Mixed-bloooded vampyres may not.
Other Information:[/u] Full-blooded vampyres are weak when the Sun comes up, and tend to sleep at that time. Most mixed-blooded vampires are immune to the Sun due to previously being awake during the day. Those who adapt to a life as a vampyre tend to become nocturnal. Contrary to popular belief, most vampyres do not sleep in a coffin. Only fully matured vampyres dwell in a coffin, but that may take up to 30 of their years.
When a vampyre is first born, they age according to human years. Upon reaching the age of 15, they begin to slow down and at that time, they start their first long "year." This is because at 15, their vampyre instincts have matured and their DNA had somewhat rewritten itself.
Vampyres are not really weak to garlic, but they cannot cross running water or enter a home uninvited. A crucifix or anything of the sort can only affect a vampyre with ill intent.
